MOSCOW, Aug 11 Dynamo Riga in the 2022/23 season will perform in the Latvian Hockey League, according to the website of the Latvian Hockey Federation. In total, six teams from Latvia and three clubs from Lithuania will take part in the Latvian Hockey League in the new season. The winner of the league play-off will become the champion of the Baltics. At the same time, teams from Latvia and Lithuania, who have taken the highest positions, will be recognized as champions of their countries. In March, Dynamo Riga announced its withdrawal from the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) due to the situation in Ukraine. Also, the decision to suspend participation in the league was made by the Finnish “Jokerit”. The Latvian club has played in the KHL since the 2008/09 season.
