The son of a State Duma deputy explained why hockey players in the United States avoided fights with him

MOSCOW, Aug 15 Sochi forward Artem Ivanyuzhenkov told that he failed to fight with rivals in the American Hockey League (AHL) due to poor knowledge of the English language. Ivanyuzhenkov played in North America from 2017 to 2020. In the AHL, he spent two meetings for the San Jose farm club, but could not stay in the team. Later, the forward played in less prestigious leagues.

"I wanted to get into the AHL, but a little was not enough. It was necessary to fight there, but you can’t agree in English, it’s hard. In Russia, he drove up: & # 34; Will you fight? — "Yes, come on". And there I said, they didn’t understand me, I’m waiting. There were no right moments. I thought that I would be in a slightly different role — as a power forward. And then they said that you don’t need to play, just fight. I tried, but they didn’t fight me", the hockey player said in an interview with Sport 24.

Ivanyuzhenkov is 24 years old. For the last two seasons, he played in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) for Vityaz, and in the summer he moved to Sochi. The striker is the son of a State Duma deputy and ex-Minister of Sports Boris Ivanyuzhenkov.
