MOSCOW, Aug 15 Attempts to cancel Russian culture and Russia itself are futile, and those who think otherwise, they have not learned the lessons of history, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"All attempts to cancel our culture, to cancel Russia are futile. It's just stupidity. And those who think otherwise, unfortunately for them, have not learned the lessons of history. But people make history. And today it includes you — young people who can dream and create, work and win. You must continue the traditions of culture, ensure the continuity of generations,” Putin said in his address to the participants and guests of the fourth festival "Tavrida.ART", held in the Crimea in Kapsel Bay.
He pointed out that all the guests and participants of the Tavrida.Art festival are bright, creative personalities who are united by faith in justice, love for the Motherland, the desire for self-development and a sincere desire to help people. «It is these qualities, the qualities of the national character that make our people are invincible, and our thousand-year-old culture is great,» the president emphasized. He noted that this year the festival team also includes guys from the liberated territories — from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. «Today you are all nearby, ready to join forces for the sake of achieving common goals, which means we are sure: to be strong, you need to be together. This is taught by the entire rich, thousand-year history of Russia. I know that with your creative achievements, with your deeds, you support our heroes — soldiers, officers, volunteers and militias in the Donbass. Thank you for this,” Putin addressed the youth. According to him, any difficulties and trials are a time of new opportunities and courageous people. “I want to wish you all find new friends on the «Tavrida», conquer new peaks of skill. I hope that the festival opening today will be an important step towards these heights for you. I wish you success and all the very best,» the head of state concluded.
