Roskomnadzor ordered search engines to inform users that foreign companies do not comply with Russian law. This was reported in the department’s telegram channel.
“Coercive measures,” as the regulator calls them, were taken against TikTok, Telegram, Zoom, Discord and Pinterest. These companies do not delete information that Roskomnadzor considers prohibited, and do not comply with other requirements of the authorities.
Roskomnadzor included TikTok, Telegram, Google LLC, Apple, Twitter and other companies in the list of those who are obliged to comply with the law «on landing.» Such companies need to create a branch or legal entity in Russia and register a personal account on the Roskomnadzor website.
Failure to comply with the requirements involves blocking the site in Russia, a ban on advertising the company and labeling “violating Russian law” in search engines.< /p>“We are being pulled into the Stone Age from the Information Age”.
