The Moscow City Court removed seven independent candidates to the City Duma from the election. Volodymyr Zalishchak, an independent deputy of the Donskoy district, spoke about the mass withdrawal of candidates, the list of those withdrawn from the elections was provided to Mediazona by the municipal platform Nomination. Pokrovsky-Streshnevo, Vsevolod Tyurkin in Kuntsevo, Ivan Khalezov in the Bogorodsky district, Pavel Yarilin in the Airport area and Sergei Tsukasov in Ostankino.
Two more candidates — Sergei Prushinsky from Teply Stan and Pavel Shlepnev from Northern Tushino — are awaiting an appeal in the Moscow City Court. Aleksanr Zamyatin, a candidate for deputies of the Zyuzino district, was scheduled for a hearing on an administrative lawsuit tonight.
“The Moscow City Court massively withdrew from the elections independent candidates who competed with pro-government candidates in the municipal elections in Moscow. The politician said that after registering as a candidate, a resident of the Don region, Sergei Azarov, filed a lawsuit against him. The candidate's posts in social networks in 2019 with FBK symbols became the reason for the claims. According to such suits, other independent candidates for deputies were also removed from spoiler candidates.
Since the end of June, dozens of independent candidates for the City Duma have been denied registration or removed from elections in Moscow. Most were accused of «involvement in the activities of extremist organizations» because of the symbols of Navalny's headquarters or the FBK on social networks.
