Forward “Columbus” Texier will miss the NHL season due to personal problems


MOSCOW, Aug 24 Columbus Blue Jackets forward Alexander Texier will miss the season -2022/23 in the National Hockey League (NHL) on the recommendation of the joint NHL and Players Union (NHLPA) Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Program, according to the club's official website. Texier will be formally considered a suspended player, in connection with which ” Columbus will not be paying him a salary, and his contract will not count towards the club's payroll. As part of an agreement between the club, the NHL, the NHLPA and the 22-year-old himself, he will be allowed to sign a one-year contract with a European team. “During the past year, I have faced some personal issues and now I feel that I need to be close to my family “I love and respect the city of Columbus, the Blue Jackets and the fans who have always treated me well. I sincerely appreciate the support, help and sympathy I received from the management, coaching staff, doctors and teammates. It was not easy, but the best decision for me at the moment,” said Texier. In March, Texier was already receiving an indefinite leave from the club for personal reasons. He has been playing for the club since the 2018/19 season, in the last regular season Texier played 36 matches in which he scored 20 points (11 goals and 9 assists). Russian goalkeeper Daniil Tarasov, defender Vladislav Gavrikov, as well as forwards Egor Chinakhov and Kirill Marchenko, who signed a contract with the club in May.
