According to the tabloid, the aircraft flew from Spain and was supposed to land at the German airport Cologne/Bonn. After takeoff, problems arose on board the aircraft, and later communication with it was interrupted.

The Swedish Coast Guard sent rescue planes, boats and a helicopter to the scene. The Latvian Civil Aviation Agency confirmed that the aircraft crashed near Ventspils. At the same time, more detailed information was not reported there. According to the head of the Latvian Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Peteris Saturdays, representatives of many countries, including Sweden and Lithuania, are participating in the search. He emphasized that information about a possible incident was received even before the crash.
