Ovechkin began training with Washington after arriving in the US

Ovechkin flew out of Russia on Wednesday for pre-season training. The new NHL regular season starts on October 7. Ovechkin is 36 years old, he is a graduate of Dynamo Moscow, in which he won the Gagarin Cup in 2013. In 2018, he won the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals. With 780 goals, the Russian ranks third on the list of the best scorers in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL), behind only Gordie Howe (801) and Wayne Gretzky (894).
