The Basmanny District Court of Moscow extended until November 12 the arrest of politician Ilya Yashin in the case of «fakes» about the army (paragraph «e» of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). Mediazone was told about this in the press service of the court.
The meeting was held behind closed doors without the press. The court rejected the defense's motion to select a measure of restraint not related to detention.
«I won't run, I won't refuse my words.» Ilya Yashin was one of the last politicians who opposed the war while staying in Russia — now he was also detained how Yashin said that he did not serve in the army. The investigator considered that the reasons for the release of the politician from the army were a medical secret.
Yashin himself was against closing the meeting and called it «strengthening of political statements.»
The politician was sent to a pre-trial detention center in mid-July. He is charged with streaming on YouTube with comments on the murders in Bucha. This is probably the April 7 broadcast.

From 2017 to 2021, Yashin was the head of the municipal assembly of the Krasnoselsky municipal district of Moscow. His colleague deputy Aleksey Gorinov was sentenced to seven years in prison in the summer in the case of “fake news” about the army. Elena Kotenochkina, who replaced Yashin as head of the municipality, also became a defendant in the “fake” case about the army and left Russia.
