The Slovak Ice Hockey Federation will continue to call up players from the KHL to the national team

MOSCOW, September 9 The Executive Committee of the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation decided that the players, players who play in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) can be called up to the national team, sport.cz reports. Previously, the hockey federations of the Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland and Latvia made the decision not to invite players who play in the KHL to the national teams. «We will invite players to the national team according to their current form, not the league they play in. The Executive Committee and the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation will always respect international agreements and applicable laws of the Slovak Republic. We believe that players currently playing in Russia do not violate international agreements or our laws. We will rely on the Olympic Charter, according to which sport should be an instrument of unification,» the federation said. Currently, seven Slovak hockey teams play in the KHL sts: goalkeepers Patrick Ribar (Spartak, Moscow) and Adam Huska (Torpedo, Nizhny Novgorod), defenders Michal Chaikovsky (Sibir, Novosibirsk) and Christian Jarosh (Avangard, Omsk), forwards Samuel Buchek ( Neftekhimik, Nizhnekamsk), Michal Kryshtof (Admiral, Vladivostok) and Adam Lischka (Severstal, Cherepovets).
