A court in Moscow arrested politician Leonid Gozman for 15 days because of a 2013 post that SMERSH was no better than the SS

The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow has arrested 72-year-old politician Leonid Gozman for 15 days because of a post written in 2013. This is reported by the correspondent of «Mediazona» from the courtroom.

Judge Denis Ivanov found the politician guilty under the article on the public identification of the USSR and Nazi Germany (part 1 of article 13.48 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The reason for compiling the administrative protocol was the publication in LiveJournal that SMERSH and the NKVD were no better than the SS and the Gestapo.

“The case is obviously custom-made. This can be seen because this is supposedly the discovery of a text that was published almost 10 years ago, but it was discovered on September 12 — on the eve of the end of my term in the first [administrative] case,” said Leonid Gozman.

< p> The oppositionist noted that he posted the text in 2013 on the Echo of Moscow website, and stopped publishing anything in LiveJournal back in the 2000s.

Lawyer Mikhail Biryukov emphasized that Gozman was diagnosed with cholelithiasis — it belongs to the list of diseases with which it is forbidden to send people to a special detention center.

Yesterday, the police detained Gozman at the exit from the special detention center, where he was serving 15 days of arrest under the same article for posting on Facebook that Joseph Stalin was worse than Adolf Hitler.

In April, Gozman and his wife were charged with failure to notify their second citizenship (Article 330.2 of the Criminal Code). In July, the Ministry of Internal Affairs put Gozman on the federal wanted list, he was detained and released with a promise to be excluded from the wanted list. In May, the Ministry of Justice entered the politician into the register of media as “foreign agents”. After February 24, the oppositionist went abroad, but returned to Russia in June, calling his decision «a moral, not a political choice.»
