MOSCOW, Sep 16 Slovak Sports Ministry may decide to cut public funding Slovak Ice Hockey Federation because of the decision of the executive committee of the organization to allow players from the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) to play for the national team. Earlier, the executive committee of the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation decided that players from the KHL could be called up to the national team as they «do not violate international agreements or our laws.» The sports department of the Slovak Ministry of Sports has clearly opposed the play of Slovak hockey players in the KHL, however, it has no right to interfere with the system and method of selecting players for the national team. We will consider the issue of providing a state contribution to the federation that represents Slovakia, and consider the eligibility of expenses for players from the KHL in the national team,» the statement said. Currently, seven Slovak hockey players: goalkeepers Patrick Ribar (“Spartak”, Moscow) and Adam Huska (“Torpedo”, Nizhny Novgorod), defenders Michal Chaikovsky (“Siberia”, Novosibirsk) and Christian Yarosh (“Vanguard”, Omsk), forwards Samuel Buchek (“ Neftekhimik, Nizhnekamsk), Michal Kryshtof (Admiral, Vladivostok) and Adam Lischka (Severstal, Cherepovets).
