Russia has previously sent a note to NATO countries over arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation stated that the NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect. «Prime Minister Liz Truss will take advantage of a visit to New York this week to reaffirm the UK's commitment idea) of the security and territorial integrity of Ukraine and announce that next year the UK will provide military support to Ukraine at the same level or even more than in 2022,» reads a press release published on the government's website on Tuesday. It is noted that the UK is already «the second largest donor of military assistance to Ukraine.» In 2022, Britain provided £2.3bn to Kyiv, and since 2015, 27,000 Ukrainian troops have been trained in the country, according to a press release. However, it is expected to include equipment such as multiple launch rocket systems,» the statement said. The Financial Times previously reported that Truss intends to inform world leaders this week of London's plans to provide Ukraine with at least £2.3bn (about $2.6 billion) in military aid in 2023. Truss will travel to the United States on Tuesday to attend the UN General Assembly. This major foreign policy event of the year will be held from 20 to 26 September at the UN Headquarters in New York. The General Assembly is taking place against the background of the most powerful geopolitical divisions since the Cold War. The Russian delegation, which had problems obtaining US visas, is expected to work in the hostile atmosphere created by Western countries that have previously unleashed a sanctions war against Moscow, as well as a proxy war «to the last Ukrainian».
