MOSCOW, Sep 19 Russian Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov may become a senator from Karelia in the Council Federation in early October, a source familiar with the situation told RIA Novosti. In Karelia, on September 11, elections were held for the head of the republic, the incumbent governor Artur Parfenchikov won, who had previously proposed Chizhov as one of the candidates for senators. Earlier, a source in the Federation Council told RIA Novosti that Chizhov would leave in the fall for the Federation Council and be delegated by a senator from Karelia.
