MOSCOW, Sep 22 The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is considering a new option of the UEFA Super Cup with the participation of four teams, reports The Guardian with reference to PA Media.According to the source, the winners of the Champions League and Europa League, who traditionally play the Super Cup among themselves, will take part in the tournament, as well as the winner of the new UEFA tournament — the Conference League — and the champion North American Major League Soccer (MLS). The organization believes that the US market is promising in terms of interest in European football. Further negotiations on this issue, according to the publication, are scheduled by the European Club Association (ECA) on Thursday-Friday in Istanbul. The tournament may be held for the first time in 2024. The 2023 UEFA Super Cup match is scheduled to take place in Kazan. In February, against the backdrop of events in Ukraine, UEFA decided to move the Champions League final of the 2021/22 season from St. Petersburg to Paris. Later, the Minister of Sports of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov said that the issue of canceling the match for the Super Cup in Kazan had not yet been raised. In May, ESPN reported that UEFA was considering options for rescheduling the match from Kazan.
