Vasileostrovsky court of St. Petersburg appointed St. Petersburg resident Yegor Skorokhodov (according to his passport — Igor Maltsev) 3 years and 8 months in prison, reports the correspondent of «Paper» from the courtroom.
He was found guilty in the case of hooliganism based on political hatred committed by a group of people (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code) for burning an effigy of Maslenitsa in camouflage in early March.
Maltsev and his girlfriend Sofya Semenova, who, according to investigators , helped him, was detained on March 8. Their apartments were searched. The young man was sent to a pre-trial detention center, and the Semyonov court ordered a ban on certain actions.
The defense of the convict called the sentence too harsh and intends to appeal it.
