MOSCOW, Oct 2, Andrey Senchenko. Beijing Olympic champion in team competition in figure skating Mark Kondratyuk refused to comment on the departure of Alexandra Trusova from coach Eteri Tutberidze. Earlier, a source said that the silver medalist of the Beijing Olympics, Trusova, left Tutberidze and switched to coach Svetlana Sokolovskaya. Kondratyuk is training in the specialist group, who is in a close relationship with Trusova. “I don’t comment on Trusova’s transition to a new coach,” Kondratyuk told reporters. Trusova trained with Tutberidze throughout her junior and a significant part of her adult career. In the 2020/21 season, she studied at the academy of two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko, after which she decided to return to Tutberidze. In addition to the Olympic silver, Trusova also has two gold medals at the junior world championships and bronze at the adult world and European championships. Trusova is the first figure skater in history to land five quadruple jumps in one program.
