MOSCOW, Oct 21 Main hearings on the criminal case of the Dutch football player of Spartak Moscow Quincy Promes on charges of armed attack on his cousin will take place on March 3, 2023, reports De Telegraaf journalist Maria de Jong on Twitter. A preliminary pre-trial hearing was held in Amsterdam on Friday. Promes did not attend the hearing. The defending side of the Spartak forward reported that he could not be at the meeting because of work. The footballer's cousin's lawyer said in court that the compensation awarded to his client in the civil process was included in the criminal case. Two new witnesses will also be called to the hearings in March. Earlier, a criminal case was initiated against Promes on suspicion of involvement in an armed attack and stabbing. The incident occurred in Abcoude (Netherlands) at the end of July 2020. According to media reports, the player had an argument with his cousin during a party and stabbed him. Promes was arrested on December 13, 2020, and on December 15 it was announced that he had been released from custody, but was in the status of a suspect. In June, the Amsterdam Civil Court ordered Promes to pay compensation for stabbing his cousin. Promes returned to Spartak from Ajax Amsterdam at the end of February 2021. Before that, he played for the Red-Whites from 2014 to 2018. Forward as part of Spartak became the champion of Russia, as well as the owner of the Cup and the Super Cup of the country.
