The Pskov city court fined a driver 160,000 rubles for trying to drive a car with a collection of sex devices by blogger Arina Vintovkina across the border. The lawyer Igor Gorokhov, who represents the interests of the sex educator, told Mediazone about this.
The driver was fined under the protocol on the illegal movement of goods across the border (part 3 of article 16.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Customs can appeal against the decision of the court. The hearing in the case took place last Wednesday, October 19. Toys will not be confiscated, Gorokhov added, they should be returned to the blogger.
A hundred members are captured by the FCS. The story of Arina Vintovkina, who has been fighting for the fifth month for the return of sex devices taken at the border
After the start of the war in Ukraine, Vintovkina left Russia. In April, she turned to a carrier who was supposed to take her car to Montenegro along with things, among which there were about a hundred sex toys.
The devices were packed, an inventory was made on them and loaded into the car. However, on the border with Latvia, customs officers seized things, and the driver was called a pervert and kept for about three days at the Ubylinka border checkpoint. All this time, Vintovkina unsuccessfully called the prosecutor's office and customs. Soon the driver was handed a protocol on the seizure of things and released.
As a result, customs ordered an examination of more than hundreds of items — three experts studied them for a month and a half and estimated the cost of the cargo at 600 thousand rubles. They came to the conclusion that sex devices cannot be classified as personal goods and are suitable for sale. According to Gorokhov, the head of the Pskov customs “understood that the driver had not violated anything,” but refused to close the case and took it to court.
