MOSCOW, Oct 23 The Boxing Federations of Russia and Belarus announced their withdrawal from World Youth Championship due to restrictions related to the training of athletes, the official website of the International Boxing Association (IBA) reports. The World Youth Championship will be held from November 14 to 26 in La Nucia (Spain). Earlier, the IBA announced the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to international competitions under the flags of their countries. «The IBA received official letters from the national federations of Russia and Belarus, which say that the boxers of the two countries, despite the possibility of participating in all IBA competitions, will not accept participation in the Youth World Boxing Championship 2022 in La Nucia. The reason for this decision was the temporary and logistical restrictions associated with the training of athletes. Therefore, the competition will be held without Russian and Belarusian athletes,» the statement said. Earlier, Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Tatyana Kiriyenko stated that the World Youth Championship could become the first international tournament with the national flag for Russian boxers.
