The Moscow Regional Court upheld the punishment imposed on American basketball player Brittney Griner for carrying hash oil vape cartridges in her luggage. This was reported by an Interfax correspondent from the court.
Two-time Olympic champion, basketball player of the US national team Brittney Griner was detained on February 17 at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport. She flew to continue the season for the Ural basketball club UMMC.
Cartridges for vape with hash oil with a total weight of 0.702 grams were found in her hand luggage. The athlete was accused of possession and smuggling of drugs (part 1 of article 228, paragraph «c» of part 2 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code) and sent to a pre-trial detention center.
