File photoMOSCOW, Oct 26 New British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed hope that he would soon be able to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky in person. Zelensky had previously said he had a telephone conversation with Sunak and invited him to Ukraine. The new British prime minister, in turn, said that the Zelensky and Ukrainian people can count on support from London. «Zelensky congratulated the prime minister (Sunak) on his appointment and wished him a happy Diwali (Indian holiday). The prime minister thanked him and said he hoped they would meet in person soon,» Downing Street said in a statement. On Monday, Rishi Sunak was elected head of Britain's ruling Conservative Party and also assumed the premiership. King Charles III instructed the new prime minister to form a new government. Sunak became the third prime minister of Britain this year. In July, Boris Johnson announced his intention to step down as prime minister.
