The athlete swam the distance in 3 minutes 52.80 seconds. 16-year-old McIntosh surpassed the achievement of Australian Ariarne Titmus (3:53.92), set on December 14, 2018 at the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Hangzhou, China. Second place was taken by American Cathy Ledecky (+0.08), who also surpassed the time of Titmus . The third was the representative of Hong Kong Siobhan Bernadette Haughey (+5.70). McIntosh is the world champion in short course and the two-time winner of the world championship in the 50-meter pool.
