Local TV reporter Sadaf Naeem was killed Sunday after she was crushed by the car of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party chairman. Imran Khan,» the newspaper said.
According to the newspaper, the journalist covered the march of Khan's supporters, which was heading towards Islamabad. Naeem was pushed and she fell under the wheels of the vehicle.
After what happened, the party leadership stopped the march. Khan expressed condolences over the death of the woman.
The current Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, promised compensation to the family of the deceased.
Earlier, the government of Pakistan appealed to the country's supreme court with a request to stop the new march «Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf», however, the court denied the request to issue an order to ban the march. The previous protest march took place on May 25, when thousands of supporters of Imran Khan reached Islamabad. During the march, protesters clashed with the police, in which dozens of people were injured on both sides.
In early April, the lower house of Pakistan's parliament passed a vote of no confidence in Khan and elected Shahbaz Sharif, the then opposition leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), as prime minister.
