Former US President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit in March against Clinton and the leadership of the Democratic Party, accusing them of trying to influence the outcome of the 2016 election by spreading false information about his collusion with Russia. In September, the U.S. District Court dismissed the lawsuit, ruling that it was filed too late and was not supported by evidence. Trump appealed the decision.
As noted, Clinton is seeking to recover the amount of legal fees and expenses incurred by her, her 2016 presidential campaign, and several other Democratic-affiliated defendants as a result of Trump's lawsuit against them.
One of Trump's lawyers, Alina Khabba, the agency writes, called Clinton's petition «a provocative accusation.»
