CAIRO, Nov 2 neutrality and pan-Arab position on the conflict in Ukraine, this is stated in the statement of the summit of the League of Arab States (LAS) in Algiers. after a three year break. The most recent inter-Arab summit, usually held annually, was last held in 2019 in Tunisia. Then the summit was hindered for several years by the coronavirus pandemic.
“Commitment to the principle of neutrality and a pan-Arab position on the conflict in Ukraine,” one of the points of the final statement of the summit says.
In addition to the leaders traditionally discussed at the Arab League summits states, such as the Palestinian problem, the crises in Libya, Syria and Yemen, interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries by Iran and Turkey, this year added issues related to challenges due to the situation in Ukraine, in particular, food security.
