KAZAN, Nov 8 Tatarstan is interested in developing cooperation with Senegal , the parties have good opportunities to build up cooperation, the press service of the President of Tatarstan reports following the meeting of Rustam Minnikhanov with the Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to the Russian Federation, Jean-Baptiste Tiati Tina.
The Ambassador is in Kazan on a working visit on November 7-9. The program of his stay includes visiting the National Library of Tatarstan, the city of Innopolis, Kazan Federal University, as well as meetings at the regional ministries of agriculture and food, education and science.
“Tatarstan and Senegal have good opportunities to increase cooperation and strengthen Russian-Senegalese relations in general, Rustam Minnikhanov stressed,” the message says.
Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan is interested in developing cooperation with Senegal, and contacts have intensified recently. In particular, he recalled that in March this year he visited Senegal, where a business forum was held. Tatarstan was visited by a delegation headed by the President of the National Olympic Committee and Advisor to the President of Senegal Mamadou Dyanya Ndiae, as well as a delegation headed by the General Director of the SIFI group of companies Abderrahman Ndiae. The President of Tatarstan stressed that the Tatarstan-Senegalese cooperation is aimed at strengthening relations between Russia and Senegal, which celebrate their 60th anniversary this year. He also recalled that he heads the Russia-Islamic World strategic vision group on behalf of the President of Russia.
According to the press service, products from the Kamaz company have been supplied to Senegal in different years. There are good prospects for cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering, petrochemistry, agriculture, and innovative industries. Representatives of Senegal regularly participate in the annual international economic summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit”.
