BRUSSELS, Nov 14 The European Union officially launched a training mission on Monday for the Ukrainian military on its territory, the decision provides for the training of 15,000 troops, the representative office of the Czech Republic, which currently holds the EU presidency, said. br>The decision will formally enter into force after publication in the official journal of the European Union.
The training mission is designed for two years. 106.7 million euros are allocated for this period.
Earlier it was reported that the training mission will be located in Poland and Germany. Other countries, including those outside the European Union, can join its work. In addition, its operational headquarters will be located in Brussels in the building of the European Foreign Service.
Russia earlier sent a note to NATO countries because of the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation stated that the NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect.
