MOSCOW, Nov 14 level represented by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, so everyone can communicate with the Russian side at a high level, Russian President Vladimir Putin himself could not go to the summit due to circumstances, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
“Russia is represented at a high level. And, in fact, Lavrov communicates with a large circle of participants in this summit. And all the rest, if they show a desire, they have the opportunity to communicate with the Russian side at a high level,” Peskov said, answering a question about whether Does Russia regret that Russian President Vladimir Putin did not go to the summit in person.
Peskov added that Putin was unable to go to the summit due to circumstances that dictated to him the priority of being in Russia.
“As for the president, circumstances dictate the priority of the president's stay in the Russian Federation, so it was decided to take part in this summit for the Russian side at the level of the foreign minister,” Peskov explained.
Summit G20 will be held on the Indonesian island of Bali on November 15-16, Russia is represented by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. At the G20, the Russian delegation plans to present a number of specific initiatives regarding the supply of food and energy resources, including building up gas cooperation with Turkey, organizing the supply of large consignments of grain and fertilizer, the Russian Foreign Ministry said earlier.
