Lavrov urged Guterres to stick to an unbiased line on Ukraine

MOSCOW, 15 Nov. The UN should take a balanced and unbiased line on the issue of settling the conflict in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, according to the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Sergey Lavrov pointed out the need for the UN Secretariat to clearly follow a balanced and unbiased line in line article 100 of the UN Charter, concerning the inadmissibility of receiving instructions from any state regarding acute global problems, primarily in the context of the situation in Ukraine and around it,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry noted that an unbiased and a balanced line “is a help in achieving a long-term settlement of conflict situations and ensuring international peace and security.”

In turn, in the press The UN service was informed that during a lengthy meeting, the UN Secretary General and the Russian Foreign Minister were able to discuss all aspects of the “grain deal”.
