«We call for the creation of an international commission to investigate the crimes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the militants fighting on their side, to conduct a comprehensive investigation of all known facts and to punish the perpetrators in accordance with the norms of international and national law,» the HRC commission said.
At the same time, Russian human rights activists stressed that they turn primarily to the UN and to colleagues in Asia, Africa and Latin America, as they fear that European politicians will simply ignore their appeals, as has already happened.
Members of the Human Rights Council drew attention to the fact that the crimes of Ukrainian militants and foreign mercenaries are not isolated — in March, the Ukrainian media published footage of the execution of Russian servicemen in the Kyiv region.
