MOSCOW, Nov 30 Moscow expects the second summit Russia -Africa, scheduled for July 2023, will help bring cooperation with the countries of the continent to a qualitatively new level, which coincides with the desire of the African countries themselves, said Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, head of the secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.
Second Russia-Africa summit is scheduled for July 2023, it will be held in St. Petersburg. The first Russia-Africa summit was held in Sochi in 2019 with the participation of the heads of most African states.
“We proceed from the fact that this forum should nevertheless become a qualitatively new step in the establishment of Russian-African relations. It should lead our relations to a different level of interaction. This coincides not only with our intentions, but also with the intentions of most African states, which send us positive signals about their readiness to take part in the preparation of the forum and in it itself,” Ozerov said during the conference “Practical Aspects of Cooperation with countries in new conditions” in preparation for the second summit and the Russia-Africa Economic Forum in St. – Africa in 2019 was a kind of “engagement”, and the second, by the same analogy, could become a wedding at which Russia and Africa “formalize their wearing.
