
PARIS, Dec 1 French President Emmanuel Macron said that will continue to continue to engage in dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to avoid an escalation of the conflict in Ukraine and «to achieve concrete things.»
The French president is on an official visit to the United States from November 29 to December 2. On Thursday, he held talks with US leader Joe Biden at the White House.
«I will continue to talk with President Putin. Today we have already talked about this with Biden, because we have always sought to avoid escalation and achieve very specific things: so , for example, I will talk with him about the safety of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant,» Macron said at a press conference following the talks with Biden, broadcast by the Elysee Palace on Twitter.
Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Putin does not yet have a telephone conversation with Macron in his work plans.
