
MOSCOW, Dec 1 Volodymyr Zelensky refused a request to allow demobilization military personnel who served a year under martial law follows from his response to a petition posted on his website.
In his response, Zelensky appealed to the laws of Ukraine «On military duty and military service» and «On mobilization training and mobilization», according to which military personnel serving during mobilization can be dismissed only due to age, health status, in connection with the entry into force of a court conviction and for family reasons.
«So, in the conditions of the legal regime of martial law the dismissal of mobilized military personnel from military service on other grounds is not provided for,» Zelensky's response to the petition reads. The decision of mobilized military personnel who served one year, as well as to provide such military personnel with a respite from the next wave of mobilization, was posted on Zelensky’s website back in September and collected the 25,000 signatures necessary for its consideration. and general mobilization in Ukraine for 90 days — until February 19, 2023
