MOSCOW, Dec 5 Emergency power outages introduced in Cherkasy region Ukraine, head of the regional military administration Igor Taburets said on Monday.
«In connection with possible rocket attacks on the country's energy facilities, by order of Ukrenergo, special emergency shutdown schedules have been applied in the region,» Taburets wrote in his Telegram channel.
Earlier, power supply cutoff schedules were in effect in the region.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported on November 23 that due to Russian strikes, all nuclear power plants and most thermal power plants and hydroelectric power plants were temporarily de-energized, and the vast majority of electricity consumers were left without electricity. The next day, the power supply to critical infrastructure facilities was restored.
The Russian Armed Forces began to attack Ukrainian infrastructure on October 10, two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, which, according to the Russian authorities, is behind the Ukrainian special services. The strikes are carried out on energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities. Since then, air raid alerts have been announced in the Ukrainian regions every day, sometimes all over the country. After the strikes on November 15, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that almost half of the country's energy system had already been put out of action.
