CHISINAU, Dec 6 The Moldovan Parliament starts working on the official position on the resolution of the European Parliament recognizing Russia as a state «sponsoring terrorism,» the leader of the ruling Action and Solidarity party, speaker Igor Grosu, said on Pro TV.
«We will analyze this resolution and work out Moldova's position in parliament regarding this definition» , — said Grosu.
The politician also spoke about the introduction in the country of punishment for supporting the Russian special operation in Ukraine, commenting on the results of a recent opinion poll, according to which 32 percent of Moldovan citizens were in favor of the Russian initiative.
«This is the result of Kremlin propaganda. It's time to toughen the punishment against them,» Grosu added.
Early, the EP adopted a non-binding resolution recognizing Russia as a «state sponsor of terrorism» because of the military operation in Ukraine. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, in response, proposed to recognize the European Parliament as a «sponsor of idiocy.»
