Dinara Gagarina, Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities at the Faculty of Socio-Economic and Computer Science, was fired from the Perm branch of the Higher School of Economics due to anti-war posts and swearing in publications. The dismissal order was published by the teacher herself.
According to the document, the reason for checking against Gagarina was the complaints of the parents of university students about the statements of the assistant professor on social networks. According to the authors of the denunciations, the teacher's behavior is «immoral», so they «see the risk of a negative impact on their children.»
The reason was, among other things, a post on September 22 on Facebook. Probably, we are talking about the publication: “FUCK WAR. From February 24 to September 18, the UN recorded 5,916 dead and 8,616 injured civilians in Ukraine. And everything is not enough? The commission also drew attention to the entry posted by October 19, with the HSE logo and the words that Gagarin «can come to students and say what he thinks.»
The university administration decided that Gagarina's actions were «an immoral offense that violates the norms of morality and morality accepted in society and is incompatible with the continuation of work.» In addition, according to the commission, “the misconduct was committed deliberately,” since the teacher repeatedly published posts with profanity.
Gagarina herself commented on the dismissal from the post of associate professor as follows: “I still have a position at this university. For some reason, they don’t dare to fire her, but simply rivet reprimands, acts (there are already 104 of them), do not pay wages, try to cross my name out of the report on my own project and remove me from work with the intern who came to me. /p>
Earlier, the teacher said that because of her anti-war position in the Perm branch of the HSE, they decided to close the Digital Humanities master's program headed by Gagarina. In addition, the university management decided not to open the Digital Humanities Center, which the assistant professor and the team had been working on for several months.
Mediazona published the story of Maria Rakhmaninova, a teacher at St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise. From February 24, she began talking to students about the war. Soon the leadership of the university forbade doing this, since «the university is out of politics», however, within the walls of the educational institution they began to broadcast a video about the imminent death of the «fascist state of Ukraine». Then the teacher decided to quit.
«The situation is intolerable». Departure of teachers, deductions and lectures in support of the «special operation» — what is happening in one university in St. Petersburg
