MOSCOW, Dec 24 Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and housing and communal services, Andriy Gerus said that Kyiv is negotiating the purchase of alternative energy generation systems, the first power plants can be installed in the next couple of months.
«There were certain agreements and today there are about two dozen power plants that are already ready. The next question is to purchase them — either at our own expense or with the financial assistance of our partners, then transport them to Ukraine and install them,» — Gerus said on the air of the Rada TV channel.
He noted that there are several power plants that are already ready, it is necessary to go through a certain licensing system and a bureaucratic procedure. At the same time, he added that this process, if launched quickly enough, can give positive results for the Ukrainian energy system, of course, «not in a week or two, a matter of several months.» The MP suggested that in a couple of months the first power plants could be installed on the territory of Ukraine.
Attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure of the RF Armed Forces began on October 10 — two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, behind which, according to the Russian authorities, the Ukrainian special services stand. The strikes are carried out on energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities throughout the country. After the strikes on November 15, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that almost half of the country's energy system was disabled. In December, Volodymyr Zelensky said that it is now impossible to completely restore the energy system of Ukraine.
