MOSCOW, 31 Dec. A military facility in Khmelnitsky was damaged after a missile strike, the head of the local military administration, Sergei Gamaly, said on his Telegram channel.
«Khmelnitsky region! Today, during a missile strike, a military facility in Khmelnitsky was hit. Damaged equipment. There is also hitting the gas station,» he said.
According to him, there is no damage to critical infrastructure, work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the attack.
Earlier on Saturday, an air raid alert was announced throughout Ukraine . As the deputy head of the office of Volodymyr Zelensky, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, later said, Khmelnytsky was attacked by rockets.
Since October 10, the Russian army has been launching missile attacks on energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities throughout Ukraine. As Vladimir Putin stated, this was a response to the terrorist attack by the Kyiv regime on the Crimean bridge and other attacks on civilian targets in Russia. Since then, air raid alerts have been announced in the Ukrainian regions every day, sometimes throughout the country. The population is facing many hours of emergency shutdowns of electricity, water and heating.
According to Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, all thermal power plants and hydroelectric power plants, dozens of substations of various classes and high-voltage power lines have been damaged in the country. As Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged in early December, it is currently impossible to fully restore the Ukrainian energy system.
