MOSCOW, 24 Jan. The Russian tank support fighting vehicle «Terminator» may become a new step for tank building, writes Forbes.
«The Terminator is a new type of armored vehicle with multiple weapons and could be the next stage in the evolution of the armored forces. It is reported that BMPTs have proven themselves well in Ukraine,» the publication says.
The article notes that the Terminator's automatic cannon has a firing range of 2,000 meters and can hit both air targets (including drones) and land targets. The Ataka heavy guided missile with a range of up to 6,000 meters is produced in anti-tank and thermobaric versions to destroy bunkers and buildings, the author writes.
«The BMPT has a new Relikt reactive armor designed to destroy anti-tank shells, and its relatively small turret makes it less vulnerable,» the journalist believes.
In his opinion, it is BMPTs, and not tanks, that may be the last surviving vehicle on the battlefield and really decide the outcome of the conflict.
Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a military special operation in Ukraine. Against this backdrop, the United States and its NATO allies continue to pump tens of billions of dollars worth of weapons into the Kyiv regime. Moscow, for its part, has repeatedly stated that the supply of Western weapons only prolongs the conflict, and the transport of weapons becomes a legitimate target for the Russian army.
