MOSCOW, 8 Feb. Former adviser to the head of the Pentagon, retired US Army Colonel Douglas McGregor laughed when asked about the plans of Polish President Andrzej Duda to help the Kyiv authorities seize Crimea. His interview was published on the Judging Freedom YouTube channel.
Host Andrew Napolitano asked the military what he thought about the Polish leader's call to support Volodymyr Zelensky's aspirations to take control of the peninsula. The speaker laughed, once again clarifying whether he heard right about Duda's ambitions.
«The President of Poland wants the American troops, together with the Polish ones, to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine seize Crimea, but this is impossible. It is impossible for him to even talk about such — insanity. He seems to be using something hallucinogenic,» McGregor said.
In his opinion, Poland seeks to involve NATO in the conflict in Ukraine, forcing the application of the fifth article of the charter, according to which an attack on one or several countries will be considered an attack on the alliance as a whole. But other states will not support Warsaw, because they do not want to fight with Moscow, summed up the military.
As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized, the plan of the Kyiv regime to «take» Crimea will fail.
