MOSCOW, Mar 8 We need real evidence, not newspaper leaks with versions of what happened on the Nord Stream pipelines, it is necessary to achieve an independent international investigation, said Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.
New York Times reported on the eve of the presence of intelligence, according to which a certain pro-Ukrainian group, whose plans were not necessarily known in Kiev, was behind the shutdown of the main route of Russian gas supplies to Europe. In turn, the German newspaper Zeit wrote that traces of the attack on the pipelines lead in the direction of Ukraine.
«We need a real and independent international investigation, not a civil strife. And we need real evidence, not newspaper leaks about an allegedly ongoing objective investigation,» Kosachev wrote in his Telegram channel.
He noted that such reports of «Westerners» about the «Kiev trace» have several goals: to dodge their own responsibility, not to quarrel the allies, «to take Ukraine out of the blow and not find executors.»
«I hope that the authors of this provocation will not get away with it anyway. The threat to peace from states that either practice state terrorism under the slogan 'the end justifies the means' or simply cover it up is too great. Sewn with white thread. Explosions occurred on September 26 last year on two gas pipelines from Russia to Europe at once — Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2. Germany, Denmark and Sweden did not rule out targeted sabotage. The operator of Nord Stream, Nord Stream AG, estimated that the state of emergency on gas pipelines was unprecedented and it was impossible to estimate the timing of repairs. The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia initiated a case on an act of international terrorism.
