The Russian office of Tank (the brand belongs to the Great Wall concern) announced the start of live sales of the Tank 300 frame, online orders for which have been accepted since mid-February. But what is much more interesting is that the prices and configurations of the second model of the brand, the older frame SUV Tank 500, were announced at the same time.
In terms of its dimensions, the “five hundredth” is not far from the Toyota Land Cruiser 300: the length of the “Chinese” is 4878 mm, the width is 1934 mm, the height is 1905 mm. The wheelbase is the same 2850 mm as the Toyota model. The passport ground clearance of the Russian Tank 500 is 224 mm. Entry angle — 29.5 °, exit — 24 °. It is stated that without any additional preparation, the SUV is able to drive a ford up to 800 mm deep. The car has 265/55 R19 tires.

The all-wheel drive Tank 500 is equipped with a V6 3.0 petrol engine with two turbochargers and combined injection. On the Russian version, the engine produces 299 hp. and 500 Nm, it is combined with a non-alternative nine-speed «automatic». The local division of the brand also reported that the engine and other components were adapted to our operating conditions, but they did not specify what exactly was finalized. Diesel is not and will not be.
Four-wheel drive is implemented according to the Torqueon Demand scheme: thrust is constantly transferred to the rear axle, the front one is connected if necessary. There is a downshift and several driving modes for asphalt and off-road, including the so-called «expert» mode, with which the car can be «customized» (for example, disable all electronic assistants except ABS). The arsenal of the model also includes locking of both cross-axle differentials (rear and front). In addition, there is the Tank-turn function, which will help to reduce the turning circle on rough terrain in tight spaces.

External features — a giant grille with a massive chrome trim, large headlights and vertical taillights (of course, LED optics), plus a hinged rear door. By the way, in China there is an option with an external spare wheel, but we will not have this (at least not yet). Inside there are separate screens for the instrument cluster and multimedia system (the last tablet is 14.6 inches). Nappa and Alcantara are used for the interior.
In Russia, the Tank 500 will be offered in two trim levels — Adventure and Premium. The list of standard equipment includes three-zone climate control, heating functions, power seat settings, adaptive cruise control and «a dozen electronic assistants.» The Premium version also includes a front differential lock, power steering column adjustment, power footrests, improved soundproofing and air conditioning systems, a panoramic roof, curtains for rear passengers and additional active safety systems.
Recommended price Tank 500 Adventure — 5,099,000 rubles, for the Premium version they ask for 5,699,000 rubles. For comparison, a “parallel” Toyota Land Cruiser 300 at one of the major metropolitan dealers today costs from 8.5 million rubles.

By the way, judging by the official website of the brand, there are now five car dealerships in the Russian Federation: in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kemerovo, St. Petersburg and Voronezh. The network will be expanded later. So, in the first half of the year Tank salons are also planned to be opened in Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Tolyatti, Tula, Ufa and Tyumen. And by the end of 2023, dealerships of the brand will appear in other large cities of the Russian Federation.
