The Silver Bear for Best Director went to French director Philippe Garrel for his drama The Plow. Spanish actress Sofia Otero, who starred in the film 20,000 Species of Bees, won the Silver Bear for her lead role.
The main program of the 73rd Berlin Film Festival included 19 films made by filmmakers from 19 countries. There were no Russian films among them.
