A deputy from the Kaluga region was fined for not standing up during the performance of the Russian anthem due to fatigue

A court in the Kaluga region fined Alexander Lependin, a deputy of the Maloyaroslavetsky district assembly, five thousand rubles for not standing up during the performance of the Russian anthem. Evgeny Serkin, a journalist from Obninsk, reports this on his Telegram channel.

Lependin was found guilty under an article on violating the procedure for the official use of state symbols (Article 17.10 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). A protocol was drawn up against him because he did not stand up during the performance of the anthem at a meeting of deputies of the district on February 20. After that, the local authorities promised to bring him to justice.

As the telegram channel “Caution, news” wrote, the deputy apologized because of what had happened and said that he could not stand up because his legs hurt after training . “But during a moment of silence, I could not help but honor the memory of the dead, so I gathered my strength into a fist and stood with everyone for the allotted time,” he added.

On March 15, Lependin was handed a summons to the military registration and enlistment office – this happened right at the meeting ethics committee, where the official was summoned because of what happened on February 20.
