The Novosibirsk Garrison Military Court sentenced Corporal Chingis Davaalai to seven years in a strict regime colony in connection with the murder in a mobilized camp. This was reported in a higher district court.
In addition to imprisonment, the court also recovered 2 million rubles from the corporal in favor of the family of the deceased.
The murder took place in the Grenada children's camp near Novosibirsk. As an NGS.ru correspondent who visited it noted, mobilized people from only one region, Tuva, were placed there.
On October 24, 2022, the government of Tuva reported on the death of a person mobilized from the republic near Novosibirsk, calling it «an accident with a fatal outcome due to the use of alcoholic beverages.» No other details were given.
According to the version of the investigation, which was given in court, the drunk corporal Davaalai quarreled with the mobilized man and stabbed him twice on the back, and then again on the right shoulder girdle. He died from blood loss (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code).
On September 29, shortly after the start of mobilization, the Novosibirsk governor banned the sale of alcohol at collection points for the mobilized, including the Grenada camp. After the murder in the camp, a local store saleswoman told an NGS.ru correspondent that drunk mobilized people regularly came to them and “aggressively” demanded alcohol.
