According to him, the earthquake was recorded at 17.12 UTC time (20.12 Moscow time). The epicenter of the tremors was located 59 kilometers from the city of Guayaquil. The source lay at a depth of 80 kilometers.
Initially, it was reported that the magnitude was 6.9, but later the data were clarified in the center.
Information about possible victims and damage was not received.
