MOSCOW, March 17 Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of the governor Ostrovsky of the Smolensk region at his own request, the Kremlin press service reported.
«Accept the resignation of the governor of the Smolensk region Ostrovsky A.V. at his own request. Appoint Anokhin Vasily Nikolaevich as the acting governor of the Smolensk region until the person elected governor of the Smolensk region takes office region,» the message says.
