MOSCOW, March 17 Russian President Vladimir Putin On Friday, he held a working meeting with Vasily Anokhin, who was appointed acting governor of the Smolensk region, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Anokhin served as director of the Department of Regional Development of the Government of the Russian Federation.
«Vasily Nikolaevich, you really have a very good experience of working in the government of the Russian Federation, and in such important areas as housing and communal services, construction, and recently you are the director of the department of regional development of the government of the Russian Federation. And of course, I very much hope that all this knowledge, and, frankly, good contacts in the Russian government with colleagues will allow you to effectively solve the tasks facing the region,» Putin said at a meeting with Anokhin.
Decree on the appointment of Anokhin will follow, added Peskov.
«Good luck to you! At the first opportunity — and it will present itself — immediately after you take the first steps in this work, we will talk in person and discuss what needs to be done additionally for to ensure that all the tasks that stand in terms of the development of the region are implemented,» Putin said.
He also asked Anokhin about what issues he considers the highest priority in the region.
