Parents of a girl with a classmate inflicted 126 stab wounds in one of the lyceums near Moscow Khimki, sued the educational institution. They demand to recover 20 million rubles from him.
This was announced to RIA Novosti by the president of the Lawyers Help Children charity foundation. Victoria Dergunova, who represents the interests of the parents.
The plaintiffs demand to pay 10 million rubles to the injured girl and 5 million rubles to each of the parents.
The lawyer noted that, in her opinion, the incident with the girl , was a direct consequence of gaps in legislation that relate to responsibility in situations where there are students with behavioral problems in educational institutions.
The current laws, the interlocutor of the agency emphasized, do not give schools the tools to control the behavior of students and leverage influence in the event of difficult situations.
The incident in Khimki Lyceum No. 10 occurred in early February. During a quarrel between two fifth-graders, one inflicted 126 stab wounds on the other.
The injured girl was hospitalized in serious condition. Doctors managed to save her, but the schoolgirl will need new operations and a long rehabilitation.
